Local artist supports The Old King's Head

We have recently showcased one of our local artists that are supporting The Old King's Head on our blog; https://theoldkingshead.com/ne...

Now is the turn of our other local artist, Jenny!

Jenny tells us a bit about herself and how it feels to see her artwork hung up in our restored 16th Century Coaching Inn for all our customers to see, and hopefully buy!

Tell us a little bit about yourself Jenny:

I am Lincolnshire born and bred, I grew up in Heckington , married a Boston boy and have lived in Sutterton for 46 years.

Tell us about your artist journey and what inspires you?

I have always painted, made things, decorated the house, it's who I am. I adore colour and design in my surroundings and my artwork. For many years I worked in watercolour, but a few years ago started to use acrylic paint. I love that moment when I splash colour on to the white canvas.

You are the first local artist whose artwork is displayed in our newly restored Old King’s Head, how does that make you feel?

I feel very proud to see my work hanging in the pub. I think my bright colours are complimented by the pale green walls. The whole effect if warm. homely and welcoming. Thank you for for having me.

Where else can people see your artwork or make a purchase? Do you do any commissioning’s?

I do not have a website but can be contacted at jennysyringa@gmail.com or at 01205460354.

I accept some commissions, usually landscapes or flowers, but I also paint dog portraits.
