The Old King’s Head Regeneration Reaches New Milestone

Excitement is starting to build amongst our team and the local community in Kirton near Boston as renovation work on our project at The Old King’s Head has now passed the halfway point!

Transforming the 16th century former inn, pub, hotel and family home into a luxury B&B, café, deli and community space is well under way; and a large proportion of the main building is now ready to be kitted out.

The windows have been installed and some of them have been given a splash of colour. The internal walls have been plastered and the original doors for each luxury B&B guest room have also been lovingly restored.

Work is now starting on bringing many of the building’s other traditional features back to life, including the fireplaces and window shutters which are a key part of the former coaching inn’s rich history.

To mark this milestone we were lucky enough to welcome Government Minister, Boston and Skegness MP Matt Warman who saw the building’s progress and together we discussed the important part it will play in the community of Kirton and for the wider Lincolnshire area.

Our CEO Greg Pickup and The Old King’s Head Site Manager Shaun Gay led a guided tour of the building for Matt.

Matt expressed his excitement about seeing the building work progressing and said what a great addition it will be to the Kirton community and for guests visiting Lincolnshire.
